Starlight consists of modular grids that have LEDs hanging down from them. Each grid has a vibrating motor that shakes the LEDs making trails of light that hovered above the viewer. Additionally, glasses with a star prism effects are given to viewers, causing the LED stars to wiggle and shake.
Originally installed at the Tiger Translate 2007
event in New York, one 5 foot by 8 foot grid was placed in the freight elevator letting visitors view the installation as the elevator moves up to the main gallery, and another 5 foot by 8 foot grid was placed in the main gallery space. |
